Sixth Form
The Sixth Form, or Key Stage 5, is the final two years of education before university.
Students follow a much more focused programme of study, allowing them to dedicate their time to the subjects in which they wish to continue later.
Taught by subject specialists, students follow the British A level curriculum in up to 5 subjects, including Spanish, regularly gaining top grades. They may also study 2 subjects within the Spanish curriculum in order to prepare for Selectividad and possible entry into Spanish universities.
Throughout the Sixth Form, students also follow a structured PSHE programme, which is delivered by their tutors. This focuses on study skills, becoming an independent adult, applying to university and learning more about current affairs in Europe and world-wide.
The Sixth Form students have their own study area. They also have their own private recreation area outside, for use in break and lunchtime, equipped with table-tennis tables. Students have the opportunity to take on more responsibility for example; through working with primary and assisting Key Stage 3 readers.
Our Sixth Form ethos is for students to aim for the highest grades, whilst growing into adults with skills who have a sense of responsibility and self discipline, within a caring and supportive community.
El Sixth Form, o Key Stage 5, son los dos últimos años de educación antes de la universidad.
Los estudiantes siguen un programa de estudio mucho más centrado, lo que les permite dedicar su tiempo a las materias en las que desean continuar más tarde.
Impartidos por especialistas en materias, los estudiantes siguen el plan de estudios de nivel A británico en hasta 5 materias, incluido el español, obteniendo regularmente las mejores calificaciones. También podrán cursar 2 asignaturas dentro del plan de estudios español con el fin de prepararse para la Selectividad y posible ingreso a las universidades españolas.
A lo largo de Sixth Form, los estudiantes también siguen un programa estructurado de PSHE, que es impartido por sus tutores. Esto se centra en las habilidades de estudio, convertirse en un adulto independiente, postularse a la universidad y aprender más sobre la actualidad en Europa y en todo el mundo.
Los estudiantes de Sixth Form tienen su propia área de estudio. También tienen su propia área de recreación privada al aire libre, para uso en el descanso y la hora del almuerzo, equipada con mesas de tenis de mesa. Los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de asumir más responsabilidades, por ejemplo; trabajando con lectores principales y auxiliares de Key Stage 3.
Nuestro espíritu de Sixth Form es que los estudiantes apunten a obtener las calificaciones más altas, mientras se convierten en adultos con habilidades que tienen un sentido de responsabilidad y autodisciplina, dentro de una comunidad solidaria y solidaria.
