Almunecar International School is an English medium, independent school for children aged three to nineteen years old. Founded in 1989, and owned by a consortium of parents on a ‘not for profit’ basis, we were established to serve Spanish and expatriate families looking for an affordable British style education for their children.

AIS is situated in Almuñécar on the Costa Tropical, with a fast road network serving a wide catchment area including Torrox, Nerja, Motril and Granada.

We provide all our students with a caring and inspiring academic atmosphere in which to develop a genuine love for learning. We pride ourselves on the quality of our teaching and on the achievements and success of our students.

AIS is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS) and was inspected in the Spring term 2020, receiving full authorisation for the maximum of four years, until 2024.
