It helps young people make sense of the complex and dynamically changing world. It shows where places are, explains how places and landscapes are formed, how people and their landscapes interact, and how a diverse range of economies, societies and environments are interconnected. It builds on pupils\u00b4 own experiences to investigate places at all scales, from the personal to the global.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geography inspires students to become global citizens by exploring their own place in the world, their values and their responsibilities to other people, to the environment and to the sustainability of the planet. The courses are designed with geographical enquiry at their heart as this encourages questioning, investigation and critical thinking about issues affecting the world and people\u2019s lives.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main aim of GCSE Geography in AIS is to develop resourceful and enquiring minds open to new ideas in an ever changing world, and to progressively develop skills which are \u00a0transferable into everyday life, which will enable students to achieve successful results in many fields of study. This has always been a popular course.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year 11 are now studying the Cambridge iGCSE course, which is felt to be more international in its approach and content. All students will follow a syllabus which includes physical and human Geography and the learning of geographical skills such as map reading and data collection.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fieldwork is an essential element and iGCSE students will be expected to discuss fieldwork techniques and theory in their examination. Fortunately, here in Almu\u00f1ecar we have a wide variety of geographical features to aid our studies. Ayuda a los j\u00f3venes a comprender el complejo y din\u00e1mico mundo cambiante.
