The study of Geography stimulates a sense of wonder about places. It helps young people make sense of the complex and dynamically changing world. It shows where places are, explains how places and landscapes are formed, how people and their landscapes interact, and how a diverse range of economies, societies and environments are interconnected. It builds on pupils\u00b4 own experiences to investigate places at all scales, from the personal to the global.<\/span><\/p>

Geography inspires students to become global citizens by exploring their own place in the world, their values and their responsibilities to other people, to the environment and to the sustainability of the planet. The courses are designed with geographical enquiry at their heart as this encourages questioning, investigation and critical thinking about issues affecting the world and people\u2019s lives.<\/span><\/p>

The main aim of A Level Geography in AIS is to develop resourceful and enquiring minds open to new ideas in an ever changing world, and to progressively develop skills which are \u00a0transferable into everyday life, which will enable students to achieve successful results in many fields of study. This has always been a popular course.<\/span><\/p>

Year 12 study the Cambridge International AS & A Level course, which is felt to be more international in its approach and content. All students will follow a syllabus which includes physical and human Geography and the learning of geographical skills such as map reading and data collection.<\/span><\/p>

Fieldwork is an essential element and students will be expected to discuss fieldwork techniques and theory in their examination. Fortunately, here in Almu\u00f1ecar we have a wide variety of geographical features to aid our studies.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

El estudio de la geograf\u00eda estimula una sensaci\u00f3n de asombro por los lugares. Ayuda a los j\u00f3venes a comprender el mundo complejo y que cambia din\u00e1micamente. Muestra d\u00f3nde est\u00e1n los lugares, explica c\u00f3mo se forman los lugares y los paisajes, c\u00f3mo interact\u00faan las personas y sus paisajes y c\u00f3mo se interconectan una amplia gama de econom\u00edas, sociedades y entornos. Se basa en las propias experiencias de los alumnos para investigar lugares en todas las escalas, desde la personal hasta la global.<\/p>

La geograf\u00eda inspira a los estudiantes a convertirse en ciudadanos globales al explorar su propio lugar en el mundo, sus valores y sus responsabilidades para con otras personas, el medio ambiente y la sostenibilidad del planeta. Los cursos est\u00e1n dise\u00f1ados teniendo en cuenta la investigaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica, ya que esto fomenta el cuestionamiento, la investigaci\u00f3n y el pensamiento cr\u00edtico sobre los problemas que afectan al mundo y la vida de las personas.<\/p>

El objetivo principal de A Level Geography en AIS es desarrollar mentes ingeniosas e inquisitivas abiertas a nuevas ideas en un mundo en constante cambio, y desarrollar progresivamente habilidades que sean transferibles a la vida cotidiana, lo que permitir\u00e1 a los estudiantes lograr resultados exitosos en muchos campos de la estudio. Este siempre ha sido un curso popular.<\/p>

Year 12 estudie el curso Cambridge International AS & A Level, que se considera m\u00e1s internacional en su enfoque y contenido. Todos los estudiantes seguir\u00e1n un plan de estudios que incluye geograf\u00eda f\u00edsica y humana y el aprendizaje de habilidades geogr\u00e1ficas como lectura de mapas y recolecci\u00f3n de datos.<\/p>

El trabajo de campo es un elemento esencial y se espera que los estudiantes discutan las t\u00e9cnicas y la teor\u00eda del trabajo de campo en su examen.
