Mathematics at AIS is designed to make students think.\u00a0Through investigations and mental calculations, they begin the journey of discovery of the world of Mathematics and start to ask (and answer) their own questions.<\/p><p>KS3<\/p><p>Students start to explore Maths and are introduced to Algebra and more formal methods for setting out their work, whilst at the same time investigating and coming up with their own rules.<\/p><p>KS4<\/p><p>Students work towards IGCSE, following either Foundation or Higher tiers.<br \/>The four main areas covered are: Numbers, Algebra, Data and Measurement.<\/p><p>Since 2008, there is no coursework in IGCSE maths. Students are assessed at the end of Year 11 in two written exams \u2013 one with and one without a calculator.<\/p><p>6th Form<\/p><p>A level Maths is taken over two years. It has 6 modules; 4 pure and 2 applied.<br \/>Pure Maths looks at Algebra, graph sketching, trigonometry and calculus.<\/p><p>Applied Maths has various options for modules including Statistics (data handling and probability), Decision Maths (critical paths and most efficient routes) and Mechanics (Vectors, Kinematics and Moments)<br \/>Further Maths A level is also available for the most able students and prepares students for future studies in Maths, Physics and Engineering.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1a9339b\" data-id=\"1a9339b\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cb618a7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cb618a7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Cuando los alumnos pasan a secundaria, siguen aprendiendo a ser matem\u00e1ticos. Las matem\u00e1ticas en AIS est\u00e1n dise\u00f1adas para hacer pensar a los alumnos. A trav\u00e9s de investigaciones y c\u00e1lculos mentales, comienzan el viaje de descubrimiento del mundo de las Matem\u00e1ticas y empiezan a hacer (y responder) sus propias preguntas.<\/p><p>KS3<\/p><p>Los alumnos comienzan a explorar las Matem\u00e1ticas y se les introduce al \u00c1lgebra y a m\u00e9todos m\u00e1s formales para plantear su trabajo, al mismo tiempo que investigan y crean sus propias reglas.<\/p><p>KS4<\/p><p>Los alumnos se preparan para el IGCSE, siguiendo los niveles Foundation o Higher.<br \/>Las cuatro \u00e1reas principales cubiertas son: N\u00fameros, \u00c1lgebra, Datos y Medidas.<\/p><p>Desde 2008, no hay trabajo de curso en matem\u00e1ticas IGCSE. Los estudiantes son evaluados al final de Year 11 en dos ex\u00e1menes escritos &#8211; uno con y otro sin calculadora.<\/p><p>6\u00ba curso<\/p><p>El nivel A de Matem\u00e1ticas se cursa en dos a\u00f1os.
