Summer school / Curso de verano 2021
We are beginning to make plans for our Summer School 2021!
Unfortunately, last year, as some of you may know, we felt that for the safety of the students, it was better not to hold our Summer School during July. This year we will be back with an enthusiastic team ready for the children to have an amazing time! The school has been working diligently, following all of the new procedures to combat Covid 19 since September. We feel confident, by following protocol and having gained experience, that this year we will be able to open to students from all areas and schools and provide a safe environment for them to have fun whilst learning and extending their English.
As previously, the Summer School will take place after normal school ends and during July. For the first 4 weeks of the school holidays, from June 28th to July 23rd, we will be carrying out activities in the main school building on Urb Los Pinos, with our dedicated team of native English teachers.
Parents will have the option of using the extended school bus route to bring the children to and from school if needed, which will make the summer school a convenient option. Children will start at 9.30 and finish at 14:00. Children at the school have been using the bus during the normal school year with required spacing and mask wearing. All children will have their temperature taken before they are allowed on the bus.
This year, we are also offering specialised speaking certificates for all ages. Ask about preparation for exam B1 course. We will offer information about exam dates and centres.
Children will work on a central theme together but in different age groups. As the school has expanded we have extra available space to carry out activities which will incorporate more practical activities such as drama, all led in English and maintaining the distances required for safety.
Children will be entirely immersed in the English language for the first month of their summer holidays, having fun whilst interacting with friends and consolidating existing knowledge. Those with limited knowledge of English will have the opportunity to work with native teachers in small groups, extending vocabulary and developing confidence. This year the focus will be on spoken English, to help them gain more confidence, and children will receive a certificate stating their level at the end of the course.
We are using feedback from parents and students from previous years, so that we know what you want and expect. In this way we can only improve on what has already been a great success.

Vamos a comenzar con la planificación del Curso de verano de 2021!
Lamentablemente el curso pasado, como algunos/as de ustedes saben, consideramos por la seguridad de los alumnos/as no organizar el curso de verano. Este año estamos de vuelta con un equipo lleno de entusiasmo y preparados para que los niños/as lo pasen en grande. El colegio ha estado trabajando con diligencia, para cumplir con todos los nuevos procedimientos para combatir el Covid 19 desde Septiembre. Confiamos, que siguiendo el protocolo y con la experiencia adquirida, este año podremos volver a usar todas las zonas del colegio para proporcionar un ambiente seguro para que puedan pasarlo bien mientras aprenden y mejoran su inglés.
Como en años anteriores, el Curso de verano comenzará justo cuando finalice el curso escolar y durante el mes de julio. Durante las primeras cuatro semanas de las vacaciones del colegio, del 28 de junio hasta el 23 de julio, nuestro equipo de profesores nativos comprometidos organizaremos.
Los padres/madres tendrán la opción de que sus hijos/as hagan uso de la ruta ampliada del bus escolar para venir e ir al colegio, lo que hace que nuestro curso sea una alternativa conveniente. El curso comenzará a las 9.30 y terminará a las 14:00. Nuestros alumnos/as están usando el transporte escolar durante este curso escolar cumpliendo con las normas de distanciamiento y llevando la mascarilla. Además se toma la temperatura a todos antes de permitirles entrar en el autobús.
Este año, como novedad ofrecemos certificados específicos de expresión oral para todas las edades. También solicita curso de preparación B1. Cada niño/a se ocupará de la matrícula del examen. Facilitaremos información sobre centros de examen.
Los alumnos/as trabajarán sobre un tema central en los distintos grupos divididos por edades. Con la ampliación del colegio disponemos de espacio extra para llevar a cabo actividades más prácticas, como teatro, todas en inglés y siempre manteniendo las medidas de distanciamiento para garantizar la seguridad
Los niños/as experimentaran una inmersión completa en la lengua inglesa durante el primer mes de sus vacaciones de verano, divirtiéndose mientras interactúan con amigos/as y consolidan sus conocimientos previos. Aquellos/as con una competencia lingüística en inglés limitada tendrán la oportunidad de trabajar con profesores/as nativos/as en grupos reducidos reducidos, pudiendo así enriquecer su vocabulario e incrementar su confianza. Este año nos centraremos en la expresión oral en lengua inglesa, ayudándoles a adquirir más confianza y al final de curso recibirán un certificado de nivel.
Los comentarios de los padres, madres y alumnos/as de cursos anteriores nos servirán para saber las expectativas del curso y que es lo que quieren. De esta manera solo queda mejorar lo que ya es un proyecto con éxito.
